Vinòforum to celebrate its 15th anniversary with some new highlights

The 15th edition of Vinoforum will become home to Italy’s top culinary professionals, wine experts and restaurateurs from the 15th to 24th of June.  The festival will be hosted at Lungotevere Maresciallo Diaz (Farnesina) and is an event on the radar of every wine distributor, producer and connoisseur. So what’s on tap this edition? This year, Vinoforum celebrates its 15th year anniversary, and to celebrate it will inaugurate four new areas: the Wine & Gourmet Arena, the Alchemiq Bar, an Oil Shop and a lounge bar distillery.

Vinòforum Academy will showcase 2500 participating wine labels from 500 wineries, “speed tastings” of wines, presentations by sommeliers, and more. Another exciting feature of this year’s edition is Temporary Restaurant. 24 of the best restaurants from all over Italy will be presenting samples of their recipes including fish, meat, pasta and fusion dishes to be paired with the 2500 wine labels. Guests will have the opportunity to try a range of Italy’s regional flavors from the best of Napoli’s pizza to Rome’s most refined carbonara, from street food to seafood, not to mention several top-of-the line ethic restaurants. Each pop-up restaurant will propose three different courses, for a total of 120 different recipes in 10 days.

New in this edition is the creation of an Oleoteca – or oil space – dedicated to the best Italian extra virgin olive oils, of an Enoteche area that will host the most important wines of the territory of Rome and Lazio and a Lounge Bar Distillery, scheduled in the company of WhiskeyItaly. A total of 40 tastings will be on the agenda (10 top tastings dedicated to the sector), led by experts, producers and the Sommelier Masters of the Vinòforum Academy.

Alchemiq Bar – the absolute highlight of 2018, is a space dedicated to the excellence of mixing. Ten of the best bartenders in Italy will alternate with the resident bartender of Alchemiq, the newest locale in Rome dedicated to mixing.

Wine & Gourmet Arena – a stage set in the heart of the event where 24 shows will debut. From tastings to presentations and talkshows held by institutions, organizations, magazines along with the best national and international food and wine productions.

Open Kitchens – this edition will see new temporary restaurants that will allow you to taste starred dishes paired with excellent wines, starting from champagne. Twenty-four starred Chefs will alternate with one another and will present 3 dishes to pair with the famous French bubbly champagne.

The Night Dinner  – Big names in the culinary world have an entire evening at their disposal to curate exclusive dinners (with limited places and by reservation only). Embark on a voyage across time guided by your olfactory memory: aromatic scents and tastes, from the past, passing through the present to the future. All dinners will be paired with great wines.

Maestri in Cucina – 10 events featuring 10 different menus, each prepared by a chef and master pizzaiolo. Every evening, the duo will present a menu they collaborated on together. Seats are limited and by reservation only.

Monday – Sunday Class (reserved to operators of the sector) – On Monday June 18th and Sunday June 24th two wine&food business meetings are in store, dedicated to the commercial channels for food and wine. The meetings are directed to restaurateurs, hoteliers, wine makers, import-export wholesalers, specialized press and exceptional tasters.
