Group Tour Underground

Come with us oa a guided group tour of the Colosseum, with access to areas previously inaccessible to the public. You’ll be offered the opportunity to see the Colosseum from top to bottom, literally, from the Dungeon to the Upper levels, as well as the main tour of the famous arena. Also included are tours of the other key archaeological sites such as the Roman forum and Palatine Hill. Group of max 25 participants. Departures every day – times vary depending on availability; ask for greater precision.

An unusual Colosseum like you’ve never seen it before. Finally you can visit the underground, which will be accessed at the section of the monument that includes the monumental Porta Libitinaria, also restored during these interventions. The descent into the hypogean environments will allow us to add a fundamental part to the visit of the monument, since an intense activity took place in these underground spaces, which allowed gladiators to play games. Here the slaves moved that through these passages moved to fulfill their services, without the spectators noticing anything and without hindering the shows. Here were the beasts captured in the most remote corners of the Empire. Here the gladiators stood and prepared for the fight before getting on the arena. These are the spaces that tell the background of the long days of the Colosseum.
From the underground, the tour will take us back to the apexes of the monument, in an area recently restored and reopened, exclusively for those coming from the underground: the third ring.
